Phil – The one you put on was 1.7Meg and is so big I could not get it to fit on my monitor, so I made you diff sizes in case you would rather use them. The best one for most monitors and Browsers is the 102k but the 25k works just as well.

Up to you and feel free to use these pictures anyway you or Calvin 500 wishes. Thanks for the ministry

This came out of a book I own that is dated 1823

A quote below the Picture is:

“From a Medal by Dacier in Possesion of Mr. Bedder”

“Philad. Pub by D. Hogan Market St.”

Do you have a listing of painters and their specific portraits,and artists who have painted or drawn Calvin, I know that Titian allegedly did two of them.
Please send as I am working on a paper on Calvin.

I just bought an old book published in 1823 by John Mackenzie, (“Memoirs of the Life and Writings of John Calvin”) in the Front was a Picture of Calvin that I had never seen. Beneath the picture is “Kneass sc.

Since the book was published in 1823 that should make it part of Public Domain.

Interestingly, I looked the book up on the internet and of the two books that I found (exact duplicates) that had the PDF pages available – neither of them had this picture – so I don’t know what to make of it.

At the Bottom of the Page is says “From a Medal by Dacier in Possession of Mr. Bedder”

But what I have is a picture not a engraving of a medal…give me a place to upload a photo so you can see if it is something you want. If so, I will take the time and get a GREAT hi-res photo done.
